How It Works
At our active gold placer claim in the White Hills area, we shovel raw desert dirt through a dry-washer — a machine that uses air and vibration to separate heavy gold particles from lighter material. No water needed out in the desert.
The concentrated material is run through a series of classifiers — screens of decreasing mesh size — to sort the dirt fines down to the smallest particles where the gold hides.
We haul the classified dirt fines from the claim directly to Picky's Pizza Saloon. Every pan you work contains real material from our real gold placer claim — not store-bought salted dirt.
Our team shows you how to classify the material one final time, then walks you through the gold panning technique using water and a gold pan. Swirl, tilt, and watch the gold settle to the bottom.
Every flake and fine you recover goes into your own glass vial. Real Arizona gold — pulled from the same hills that sparked the White Hills silver and gold rush of 1892.

The Real Deal
This isn't a tourist trap with salted dirt. We operate an active gold placer claim in the White Hills area — the same hills that drew thousands of prospectors during the silver and gold rush of 1892. We dry-wash real desert dirt at the claim, classify the fines, haul them to Picky's, and let you finish the job.
A bag of concentrates contains the remaining dirt from shoveling approximately 4–5 five-gallon buckets of our gold claim placer dirt through a dry-washer. It could contain flour gold, small gold pickers, and more. Takes approximately 30–45 minutes for two people to classify, pan, and bottle any gold.
White Hills Gold Rush
The White Hills silver and gold rush of 1892 drew thousands of prospectors to this remote stretch of the Arizona Territory. At its peak, White Hills boasted a population of over 1,500 miners, a post office, hotels, and saloons. The mines produced millions in silver and gold before the veins played out and the town was abandoned.
Today, Picky's Pizza Saloon keeps that spirit alive. Our active placer claim sits in the same gold-bearing ground those original prospectors worked. When you pan here, you're standing in the footsteps of the 1892 rush.
